"SEX & DEATH": Spoken Word Poetry Soiree (Performace, Open Mic, Spanish Tapas)

Are you feeling funky, freaky, and poetic?  Are you ready to bathe in a dramatic outpouring of the poetic human soul??  Yeah, you are!!  Come and join in the beatnik, bohemian revelry as we enjoy a lineup of some of Melbourne's most colorful and talented spoken-word poets.  Then, dust of your secret poetry collection and sign up for the open mic section!   What twisted, lusty, melancholy words lurk in the dark recesses of YOUR soul?  We're all dying to find out!

VENUE:  Robert Burns Hotel, 376 Smith Street, Collingwood

PERFORMERS:
The evening is hosted by poet/performer/wild man:  Timothy Christopher Ryan. Timothy serves a plethora of delicious words with a side of juicy physicality; presenting a nonexistent philosophical questioning and straight up temptation. This gender fluid King/Queen of contrasts who Peter Pans their hairy body through every performance, presents acts inspired from the past with an aim to creating the future of Australiana queer culture.

Timothy presents a kaleidoscopic line-up of Melbourne's finest spoken-work poetry performers.

OPEN-MIC:
Bring along whatever poetry you have written and might be willing to share.  You don't need to be a great poet, just get up and throw it out there!  This is a wonderfully safe and friendly environment to experiment in.  No need to commit, just bring your poetry and sign up when you get there and feel ready.

FOOD & DRINKS:
The Robert Burns Hotel will serve us a delicious variety of their specialty Spanish Tapas.  Food is included in the ticket price.  Drinks can be purchased at the bar.

DRESS:
Dress is casual but feel free to throw on a beret and neck kerchief and get a bit beatnik!
